• Modern web browser software (for best results, we encourage you to download and install the latest updates for your browser software).

• Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled within your browser software
  (this is the default setting for most browser programs)

How do I log in to a course?
When you register for a LectLearn course, an email will automatically be sent to you that provides a link to the course login page. Click the link in the email to be directed to your course login page.

I am being asked to select an organization before logging in. Which organization should I select?
If asked to select an organization before logging in, please select the name of the organization where you registered for the course.

I have forgotten my username and password.
If you have forgotten your password, please use the Find Password feature to have your password emailed to you. If you have forgotten your username, please contact your school for assistance.

Login Page

How do I move through the course?
To get started, click the "Enter Course" link from the Course Homepage. Then click the "Next" button at the bottom of the page to keep moving through the course content. Once you reach the end of a chapter, you may be prompted to take a chapter exam before moving to the next chapter.

Is my course progress saved if I log off or shut down my computer?
Yes - your course progress and all exams are saved. You do not need to complete the online course in one sitting - you may take the course at your leisure provided you do so within the time period allowed by your state. When you log back in to LectLearn you may continue where you left off by clicking the Enter Course link located on the Course Homepage.

How do I log out of my course?
To log out of your course, simply close your Internet browser program, or click the "Save Progress & Exit" link located within the course.

How does the clock track the time I spend in a course?
The clock tracks the time you spend on course content and course exams (if applicable). The clock time is reported using a decimal notation to comply with the common notation used by course designers when specifying the number of credits for a course. For example, a course may be advertised as a "2.5 hour course", and the LectLearn course clock follows this notation for consistency. Note that 2.5 hours is the same as 2 hours 30 minutes, 2.75 hours is the same as 2 hours 45 minutes, etc.

Does my course expire? How long do I have to complete the course?
Yes - your access to the course does eventually expire. Consult your Course Homepage for information about your remaining time to complete the course requirements.

Why do I have to occasionally log back into LectLearn during a course?
LectLearn tracks the time you spend on an online course. After a period of extended inactivity, LectLearn will automatically save your course progress and log you out of a course. You may log right back in and continue the course, or continue the course at a later time. If you are repeatedly logged out of your course, you may want to contact technical support for assistance.

Can I review the course material?
You may review the course material by clicking a chapter name from your Course Homepage, or by clicking the Course Outline link located on the left side of most other pages. After completing a course you may continue to review the material until your access to the course expires.

How do I complete the course?
Once all of the requirements listed on your Course Homepage have been completed, a "Completion Information" link will appear on the Course Homepage that provides special instructions for completing the course.

Are there exams in my course?
A requirement will be listed on your Course Homepage if exams are part of a course.

How do I take exams?
You will automatically be directed to the appropriate exam based upon the course requirements. The link to complete the exam will appear as a "Next" link while you are working on your course content.

What if I don't pass an exam the first time?
You may re-take an exam as many times as necessary in order to achieve the minimum passing percentage for the exam. In most cases you cannot continue to the next section of the course until after you successfully pass the previous section's exam.

How do I re-take an exam?
To re-take a chapter exam, click the last chapter exam attempt from the Course Homepage, then click the Retry Exam link on the Exam Summary page. To re-take a final exam, click the last successful chapter exam attempt, then click the Final Exam link.

What are the requirements to view the videos in my course?
You must have the Adobe Flash player installed on your computer to view course videos. This is a free software program and can be downloaded from www.adobe.com.

My audio or video is choppy and skips during playback.
The quality of the video you see and the audio you hear during video playback is determined by your Internet connection speed. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended for viewing video playback. Additionally, see the tips below to improve your video playback.

Video Playback Tips

1. When playing video, consider closing other programs on your computer that might also be using your Internet connection.
2. If other computers are sharing the same Internet connection in your home or office, check those computers to ensure that they are not running programs that may be using your shared Internet connection.
3. Allow the video to "buffer" for a period of time by pressing the video play button, and then pressing the pause button as soon as the video begins playing. You should notice that the video timeline located under the video window will begin to display the amount of video that has been buffered or loaded on your computer. Begin playing the video after the video has been sufficiently loaded to your computer.

How do I open or print course documents?
Some courses include documents that you can open and print for your reference. These documents are typically in PDF format, which means they can be viewed or printed by any computer with the Adobe Reader software. The Adobe Reader software is free and is available from www.adobe.com.

I have installed Adobe Reader and the course documents will not open.
Sometimes the course document files are large and take a few moments to download to your computer. Please wait approximately one minute to see if the document downloads and opens on your computer. If the document does not display after one minute, please contact Technical Support for assistance.

If you encounter an issue while taking a course, please consider these tips before contacting technical support:

1. Does your computer meet the computer requirements listed above?
2. If the issue is related to video playback or downloading course documents, have you installed the necessary helper applications? See the Video section and the Document section above.
3. Restart your computer and try the course again. Many common issues can be corrected by restarting the computer.
